Charming Town with Famous Christmas Market

Situated in the Bavarian administrative region of Franconia, the town has a population of about 500 000.
This charming town is the birth place of gastronomic specialities like "Nuremberger Lebkuchen" (gingerbread) and
"Nuremberger Rostbratwürste". Among other things, they are offered at world-famous "Nuremberger Christkindlesmarkt" (christmas market) which is placed on the market in front of the Frauenirche. Taking place in the weeks before christmas, it attracts about 2 million visitors each year. An age-old custom still
takes place at the opening: the Nuremberger Christkind (christ child) speaks from the balcony of the church to the Nuremberger people.
The Christkind gets elected every two years and is played by a Nuremberger woman at the age from 16 to 19.
The speech always starts with:

"Ihr Herrn und Frau'n, die Ihr einst Kinder wart, Ihr Kleinen, am Beginn der Lebensfahrt,
Ein jeder, der sich heute freut und morgen wieder plagt: Hört alle zu, was Euch das Christkind sagt! ..."
