Hiking
The Hörnerdörfer are well-known as a hiking paradise – and the very special here is that both high-Alpine mountain tours as well as easygoing hikes are possible.
Over Fischen towers the Rubihorn (1957 m), over Obermaiselstein the Riedberger Horn (1787 m), over Bolsterlang the Bolsterlanger Horn (1586 m) and over Ofterschwang – what else? – the Ofterschwanger Horn (1406 m). The name “Horn” means nothing else than mountain summit. You will find an almost endless number of different hiking possibilities in the Balderschwang high valley near the border to Austria.
The Allgäu cows spend their summer holidays on the mountain pastures for three long months. Who would not like to swap? Your visit to our Alpine huts will certainly be appreciated – a delicate snack, fresh cow milk as well as self-made mountain cheese are an ideal preparation for the way back into “civilization”.

Biking
The Hörnerdörfer biking area comprises many routes. You can, for example, bike leisurely with your family from Fischen along the Iller to Oberstdorf or Sonthofen (approx. 40 minutes).
If you want to experience the Alpine scenery by mountain-bike, we have a vast offer for sportive tours of every kind.
You receive the mountain-bike map from us free of charge! Equipped with it, you can directly start and discover the whole Allgäu as well as the neighbouring Austrian landscape in detail.
Tours by racing or trekking bike are pure pleasures for sportive bikers. On asphalt Alpine paths and toll roads (of course, the toll fee is only for cars) one can cycle in valleys or to the mountain huts also on smaller tyres. A decent snack with self-made Allgäu specialities such as buttermilk and cheese of various kind perfectly rounds off a beautiful day.

Fun sports
“Have fun” – or as local Oberallgäu inhabitants would say “A moards Göude” – this is what the Allgäu summer offers due to its broad variety of possibilities. Be it in the mountains while climbing, in the water while canyoning or in the air while paragliding. Here you find everything the heart desires.
Water & earth:
Canyoning – follow the meanders of the mountain stream on foot, glide, jump, swim, abseil – a real kick! In case it gets too wild for some, they can, of course, manage difficult and demanding parts also on dry feet via roundabout routes.
The high-wire garden in Bolsterlang offers brave and curious great activities. In the middle of nature, they can prove their skills on the course or at the rope alone or together with the family on every first and third Sunday from May to October.
Fancy a bungee-jump from the Heini-Klopfer ski-jump? From May to November, you can conquer the ski-jump yourselves and plunge down on a 70-meter-long rubber rope – marvellous mountain panorama inclusive.
Of course, we can also offer you water-skiing, family rafting, tubing and Canadian canoe tours.
